A complete clubhouse landscape transformation for Talons Cove Golf Club — featuring a multi-tier natural stone waterfall, terraced planting beds, an ornamental gazebo garden with pedestrian bridge, fire pit lounge, and new plantings framing panoramic views of Utah Lake and the Wasatch Mountains.
Scope of Work
Excavation and Site Prep
Brought in heavy equipment to regrade the entire hillside between the clubhouse and the course, establishing proper drainage and foundation for the retaining walls and water feature.
Removed existing landscaping and reshaped the terrain to accommodate tiered rock walls, walkways, and planting beds at multiple elevations.
Natural Stone Waterfall & Water Feature
Built a large-scale cascading waterfall using locally sourced Utah sandstone, descending from the clubhouse patio level down to a catch basin at cart path level.
Designed multiple waterfall drops across the tiered rock structure, with water flowing through planted beds and stone channels before collecting in a lower pond.
Installed recirculating pump system, basin, and plumbing to support continuous operation throughout the season.
Integrated benches at the base of the waterfall for golfers and guests to sit alongside the water.
Terraced Rock Walls & Planting Beds
Constructed multiple tiers of natural sandstone retaining walls wrapping around the clubhouse, creating defined planting beds at each level.
Filled beds with bark mulch and planted a mix of ornamental grasses, blue spruce, Italian cypress, juniper, purple fountain grass, and other seasonal perennials chosen for year-round texture and color.
Installed concrete curbing throughout to define bed edges and walkway borders.
Gazebo Garden & Pedestrian Bridge
Designed an ornamental garden area centered around the existing stone column gazebo with its wrought iron dome — creating a ceremonial focal point for weddings and events.
Installed a custom iron pedestrian bridge spanning the water feature stream, connecting the clubhouse patio to the gazebo lawn.
Laid paver walkways beneath the gazebo and created curving pathways through the garden with defined mulch beds and accent plantings on each side.
Fire Pit & Outdoor Gathering
Built a circular block fire pit with a paver pad on the upper terrace, positioned between the clubhouse and the gazebo for outdoor events and post-round gatherings.
Surrounded the fire pit area with turf and planting beds to create a separate lounge zone within the larger landscape.
Perimeter & Entry Landscaping
Installed new plantings, stone pillar accents, and mulch beds along the parking lot-facing walls and entry gates, giving the clubhouse a polished arrival experience.
Added ornamental iron entry gates with stone pillar columns to define the garden boundaries from the parking area.
Planted columnar trees, pines, and accent boulders along the perimeter for privacy and structure.
Fire Pit & Outdoor Gathering
Installed fresh sod across all lawn areas within the garden, from the gazebo green to the terrace zones and transition areas along the cart paths.
Coordinated irrigation with the existing golf course system to ensure consistent coverage across all new planting beds and turf.

All States Landscaping completely transformed our clubhouse grounds. The waterfall and garden have become the centerpiece of our venue — we've booked more weddings and events since the renovation than in any year prior. Our members and guests comment on the landscape every time they visit. It's exactly the experience we wanted to create.
