Should You Build the Spa With the Pool?

Almost always, yes — and the reason is plumbing. A spa built at the same time shares the excavation, the equipment pad, the heater and the automation. Added later, it needs its own trenching, its own equipment, and usually a section of finished decking cut out and rebuilt.

The other reason is season. A Utah pool runs from late May to mid-September in any honest accounting. A spa runs all twelve months, which is why it often earns its cost back in use long before the pool does.

Placement matters more than people expect, and we site spas for the walk in winter as much as the view in summer: a short, sheltered, well-lit path from the house, out of the prevailing wind, and somewhere the cover can be moved without standing in a snowbank.

Pricing

• Pool and spa pricing depends on size, shape, features, site conditions, and the scope of surrounding landscape work. Building the spa alongside the pool is materially cheaper than adding it later. We scope each project individually after a site visit.
