Sprinkler Installation

Sprinkler system installation across Utah's Wasatch Front — new in-ground irrigation systems, drip lines for planting beds, and full replacements of systems past repair. We quote after a short site visit and the estimate is free. An irrigation system is designed around how a property actually behaves: its grade, its soil, its sun, and whether it draws from secondary or culinary water.

Benefits

  • Designed Around Your Water Source: Secondary and culinary systems behave differently — pressure, filtration, timing and cost all change. We design for the source your neighborhood actually has, not a generic layout.
  • Zoned by Plant Need: Turf, shrub beds and trees want different amounts of water on different schedules. Proper hydrozoning is what keeps plantings healthy and keeps the water bill defensible.
  • Water You Don't Waste: Correct head spacing, matched precipitation rates and weather-based controllers eliminate the overspray, runoff and overwatering that most lawn sprinkler systems quietly lose water to.
  • Built to Survive Winter: Proper trench depth, drainable lines and quality valves — an underground sprinkler system installed so it blows out cleanly each fall instead of cracking at the first hard freeze.

What's Included

  • Site & Pressure Assessment: We measure static pressure and available flow, map grade and sun exposure, and confirm your water source before anything is drawn.
  • Irrigation System Design: Zone mapping, head layout and precipitation calculations matched to the planting plan — the irrigation system designed with the landscape, not added to it afterward.
  • Underground Installation: Trenching, mainline, valves, heads and controller. An in-ground sprinkler system installed with minimal disruption to existing landscape, and documented so it can be serviced years later.
  • Drip Irrigation for Beds: Low-volume drip run to shrub beds, perennials and trees, where targeted delivery does more than overhead spray and loses far less to evaporation.
  • Start-Up & Winterization: Spring start-up with coverage checks and controller programming; fall blow-out and shut-down timed to Utah's freeze calendar.

What Sprinkler Installation Costs in Utah

Sprinkler system installation is usually priced by the zone, and the zone count comes from the property rather than from a menu. Sun exposure, slope, planting types and available pressure decide how many zones a yard needs — two lawns of identical square footage can differ by several.

The other variables are the water source, how much trenching has to happen through established landscape, and the controller. Running an underground irrigation system into a bare lot before sod goes down is straightforward. Retrofitting one into a finished yard with mature plantings and hardscape costs more, because the careful work is getting lines in without tearing up what's already there.

We give you a written estimate after a site visit, at no cost. We measure static pressure and available flow first — quoting an irrigation system without knowing what the water is doing is guesswork, and it's how yards end up with zones that can't run at full pressure.

When you compare irrigation companies, ask how many zones they priced and what pressure they measured. A cheaper quote with fewer zones isn't a saving — it's a system that waters your shade beds on the same schedule as your lawn.

Seasonal Care for Utah Systems

Most Wasatch Front secondary water districts turn their systems on in mid-to-late April and shut them off around mid-October. A system started before pressure is available, or left charged after the district shuts down, spends weeks working against itself.

Fall is where the expensive damage happens. The first hard freeze along the Wasatch Front typically arrives by late October, and a system that hasn't been blown out before it can crack pipe, split valves and ruin backflow assemblies — repairs that surface the following spring, usually all at once. We schedule winterization against the freeze calendar rather than anyone's memory.
